Diving at Hideaway
Hideaway Island Resort is a fully equipped 5 star STI Dive Resort. We have everything you’ll need to enjoy your dive experience whether you are new to diving or a seasoned veteran.
Hideaway Island has a reputation for being a relaxed paradise for divers and snorkelers alike. Where else in the world can you roll out of bed and be SCUBA diving in less than 15 minutes? We have more than 15 dive sites all within 15 minutes of the shore, including 2 wrecks. With a number of boats available for diving we can accommodate individual divers to large groups with enough capacity and variety to keep everyone happy.

STI Dive Courses
We can instruct from beginner to Divemaster with a large range of beginner and continuing education courses, and we can tailor our theory and in-water training sessions to suit your availability. We run Open Water, Advanced Open Water and Rescue courses for individual students and groups to get you diving or expand your experience.
We also offer a wide variety of specialty courses to increase your understanding of the environment you are diving in (such as Underwater Naturalist and Project AWARE courses) brush up your skills (eg Peak Performance Buoyancy, Navigation) or teach you to access new places or skills (Night, Wreck, Nitrox & Deep). We also instruct Bubble Makers and Seal Team for all the young ones 8 years and over. Please feel free to inquire for additional information.

Dive Times
We have scheduled dives available which depart at 8:30am, 10:30am and 2:00pm daily. We can plan dives around your other activities, we also offer night dives on request.– call into the dive shop to check for availability.
Many of the dive sites also make for excellent snorkeling, so feel free to join a dive group or the snorkel tour that leaves the island just after noon each day.
Instruction
If you have never tried diving before you have the ideal opportunity to experience this sport through our STI programs in our pool-like marine sanctuary. With a resident instructor, we can help you get underwater and under way, whatever your requirements.
Our experienced and friendly dive team will make sure you see the best of what we have to offer. The sites are all teeming with life ranging from sponges and hard corals, to anemones, gorgonian fans, and a host of fish. The sites themselves offer a range of styles – from right off the shore for great snorkelling or night diving, wreck dives to steep walls dropping off to 90 meters, and caves formed by lava flows. The fine array of finned creatures that inhabit the sites have no fear of either divers or snorkelers.
Our resident STI Instructors and Divemasters have thousands of dives between them so you’ll be in good hands.
EQUIPMENT
Our equipment is all maintained to ensure comfort and safety – we use Scubapro gear including BCD’s, Regs, computers and fins and have over a hundred tanks ranging from 9.5ltrs to 15ltrs for all those air pigs out there! Other hire gear available to enhance your dive experience includes torches and wet suits; 3mm full and short for both men and women.
