Surrounded by the calm waters of our Marine Sanctuary, there are many options for water based activities SnorkelingWhen you're staying at a marine sanctuary, the obvious attraction is the coral and tropical fish life. We are happy to provide our guests with free use of snorkeling equipment so that you can make the most of the wonders at your doorstep. Wander off the shore to hand feed thousands of 'tame' fish, or join our daily snorkel safari to the fringing reef where you can see more than 130 different varieties of coral in 2-4m of water. Our dive barge and driver stay with you while you snorkel to make sure you get back safely. And don’t forget to mail a postcard at the world’s only underwater post office. Glass Bottom BoatIf you’d rather stay dry, another option is to join one of our daily glass bottom boat trips around the surrounding reef. The 'Barnacle' is proving a huge hit with swimmers and non-swimmers alike as they stare through the glass panels on the floor of the boat and onto the pristine coral and greedy fish being fed beneath KayakingFor those who'd rather rely on muscle power, there are always our ocean kayaks in which you can circumnavigate the island, or our pedalo to keep you amused. Kite SurfingFor the more adventurous of you, the mainland beach opposite Hideaway Island has proven to be a very popular spot for kite surfers. The combination of brisk breezes, flat sandy beach and a beautiful location are difficult to beat. Bring your own gear.
