I stayed at Hideaway in 2005 with a friend and we had such a brilliant time I took my brother, his wife and child and my two children back again in 2007. We are now in the early stages of planning another trip back to Hideaway later this year with even more family and friends. Hideaway is just magic, its a beautiful island with reef straight off the shore for snorkelling or go for a tour and swim at the beautiful Cascade (Mele) waterfalls. The staff are fantastic, friendly and welcome you to their piece of paradise with open arms. Our children were treated like royalty and loved to say hello to all the staff each morning. The 24hr ferry to the mainland made things so convenient. Nothing was ever too much to ask of these wonderful people. The local village of Mele has the happiest people on earth living there, they are so warm and welcoming and the local children are just gorgeous. We were able to hire one of the many buses to take us on a full day trip around the island to see all of their beautiful island and meet other villages who live a little more remote than Port Villa. I cannot recommend this beautiful place enough. Have a brilliant time.

We stayed at Hideaway Island July 2008. What can we say other than the moment we arrived (11pm with our boat driver wheeling our luggage up to our cottage in a wheelburrow), we knew we were in for an experience. Cottages were clean and not too "rustic" complete with giant clam shell in the bathroom only added to the appeal. We loved that there were only 60 max guests on the island. We didn't even miss a pool. The snorkelling was better than Hawaii, Fiji and Great Barrier Reef. Cottages were great value for money (kids stay for free). Hiking to gorgeous waterfalls (the water was so blue). Close enough to Port Vila to sample the restaurants. Staff were great in arranging tours etc. Can't wait to return to our "little slice of heaven".

To whom it may concern,
I spent 3 days at Hideaway Island a couple of weeks ago and it was everything and more than I expected. I went over completly oblivious to the island paradise that it is and was overwhelmed by the hospitality and friendliness of the staff. I would especially like to thank Stella and the dive team for making my stay absolutly fantastic! Hope to see you all again soon.
